Baggage Handling System (BHS) Equipment Manufacturers and Contractors
There has been a reduction in the number of BHS manufacturers and contractors in the last few years. The companies are obviously keen to promote and sell their own products and solutions, so it is recommended that an independent consultant is used for specification, scheme design, tender (bid) evaluation, construction management and witnessed testing.

Hold Baggage Screening (HBS) Equipment Manufacturers
As with manufacturers of BHS equipment, there has been a reduction in the number of HBS manufacturers in the last few years. The choice of HBS equipment can be complicated: government agencies often have specific requirements for licensing screening equipment; different detection technologies exist; the type of HBS equipment, its configuration and mode of operation can have a significant operational impact on baggage handling. For these reasons, and because the manufacturers are obviously keen to promote and sell their own products and solutions, it is recommended that an independent consultant is used for specification, scheme design, tender (bid) evaluation, construction management and witnessed testing.
